About the Symposium
Bank of Ceylon as the leading Commercial Bank in Sri Lanka commemorating its 80th anniversary this year wishes to conduct an international symposium on future Banking Innovations, by recognizing its duty to direct and guide the industry towards a revolutionary future banking landscape in line with an atmosphere which is disruptive and inevitable.
We consider this initiative as a Corporate Social Responsibility towards the betterment of the industry. This event is a first of-its-kind conducted by a Banking Institution in Sri Lanka which aims to help the industry to energize innovation.
“Innovative Banking in a smart world” is the called theme for this ‘InnovBank-2019’ symposium as this is a timely significant and central aspect of the banking industry in today’s world.
We openly invite the industry veterans, academics and all interested parties to take part in this international event on Banking Innovations, by presenting your applied research papers/concept papers / proposals on disciplines of future banking outlined herein.

FinTech enables more flexibility, better functionality and aggregation of services. The rapid rise of FinTech has changed the landscape in banking, requiring for more innovative solutions in delivery channels, especially the business-to-consumer models, automation of back-office functions. Papers and Proposals with Banking applications are welcome for strengthening the position.
Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) is rethinking and redesigning of current business processes for better performance in cost, quality, service, speed etc. BPR can lead to Centralizations, Automation, Structural changes etc.; a complete review and redesign of a process to achieve the desired outcome. The proposals/ papers on re-designing of business processes in banking stream are invited.
Developing new products, enhancing service delivery, customer relationship management/ customer experience management are a never-ending series of avtivities. These areas require innovative financial products and service solutions connected along with latest technogical enhancements combined and fitted into the stages in life cycles of each product line.
Corporate and International banking need to redesign their client service and relationship management models by incorporating digital tools and practices more broadly to enrich client experience, improve cost performance and sustain growth. Proposals aimed on innovative technological applications in respect of Corporate and International banking are welcome.
At present, Banks adopt data-driven approaches for business growth, operational efficiency and enhancing service delivery. Best use of these data-driven approaches aligned with technological capabilities in Banking arena are imperative for the industry to succeed. This segment aims to research how big data analytics can be integrated into decision making in future banking.
We raise the value of your thoughts on future banking and drive them into reality. Ideas/ Suggestions/ Concepts on how you see or dream on future banking would be much interest for us to meet the expectations of your generation. Your proposals in any format (image, flow chart, report etc:) are welcome.
Evaluation process comprises the following three main phases to recognize the best paper/ proposal under each catergory depending on the specific evaluation methodology pertaining to the catergory of participants.
Usefulness of the concept and practical applicability will be reveiwed by profesionals at initial screening stage and filtered papers/proposals will be scheduled for presentations.
Self prepared presentations on submited papers/ proposals have to be delivered before an expert reviewing panel at this stage to showcase the appropriatness and contribution of the concept towards the industry development. (Participants can select any prefered method of presentation. Ex. Powerpoint, Flow chart, Application demostration, Video etc...)
Shortlisted papers/ proposals after the presentation will be named for a Panel Discussion consists of highly profesional, academic and well known local and international industry veterants at the "Symposium Day" .
